As a millennial, Shakirah grew up in love with music. She imitated dance moves of Michael and Janet Jackson as her daycare pastime. She was casted in movies such as ‘Music of the Heart,’ starring Meryl Streep, ‘Changing Lanes,’ starring Samuel L. Jackson and Vanity Fair Magazine cover because of her skill as a violinist. By the age of 8, she began to dance at the Dance Theater of Harlem, and placed first at the Junior Olympics by the age of 10 as a gymnast.
